Alder Weave Delight Traditional Geocache

This cache is temporarily unavailable.

Greatland Reviewer: Dear BlueIceGlacier,

I have been going through caches that have multiple "DNF" (did not find) logs, which is often a sign that a cache is missing. Generally cachers avoid hunting a cache with many DNF logs, so it is a good idea for the Cache Owner to check the cache and either replace it or post a log to the cache page to tell fellow geocachers that the cache is still there, but they might need new eyeglasses. No action by the Cache Owner may result in a cache being archived to keep the cache from appearing in local Pocket Queries.

Please reenable the cache page after you have maintained your cache. To reenable the cache, go to the cache from your Account page on GC.com. Under "Admin Tools" in the upper right-hand corner, click "Enable," write your note and click "Submit log entry."

Please contact me if you have any questions.

Geocache Description:

Go out Sawmill Creek Road to the Thimbleberry Lake trailhead, where one may park. Maximum grade is 17%. The cache is aprx one mile. Once past the maintained trails, the terrain is brushy (in summer), and usually there are a few muddy spots.

There is a wide graveled well maintained path up to the lake, but if you go behind the trailhead sign and straight back a few yards you will find the old trail, which is still passible shape, and joins with the gravel path prior to the lake. Either way, you will want to wear waterproof boots, for the cache is well beyond the end of the graveled path. In summer this easily followed trail is well overgrown with berry bushes which you have to force your way through, or duck walk, even though at the height of berry season we found most the berries missing!! Lol As you walk along note that some of the alders have been cleverly almost maypole woven by previous walkers. I know of other alderwoven wonders up there, as well. Not all the berries there are good for you so know your berries. We found some nice berries near the cache and Dee ate one! But don’t bellyache if there are none left because that is a clue!! Lol Also, we got a variance of 633 - 637 and 236 - 239. The cache, a large plastic container, is partly visible, but covered with local materials to help keep rain off. Field of view is only about 90 deg. We put various neat items in there, some historical, some kiddy, some novelty. There is quite a selection, and items of special nature have descriptions with them.
