garyhoney's still streaking (AA-05) Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

BaSHful: Long promised, much delayed, it's finally time to say goodbye to all my Amazing Adventure caches for all the reasons previously mentioned.

However, I have not yet collected in the cache containers, which might not be for a few days or even a couple of weeks. I will post a further note here when I have done so.

In that interim period I will still accept 'Found it' logs, if there's anyone left who's desperately keen to make a find.

BaSHful.

Geocache Description:

Find the key or solve the maze - your choice!

At the time this was set garyhoney was approaching his 140th consecutive day's (successful) caching. He went on to eventually complete an amazing 400 consecutive days! The above co-ordinates are not for the cache but actually just by the Running Horses pub where you can indulge in a celebratory pint. Food's pretty good too.

Choice 1 - The Cipher

The co-ordinates for the cache are contained in this cipher text:-
tfiiwnqxicojlgeohfkaqrsbxjxiyyvhpxohfaevpifxjoyjobainzxmktfidqxjxicqiuzxohfsedpifxj
You should assume N51 and W000.

Hints for the cache are contained in this cipher text:-
evsztemtwjwxhyddkafedpqilxeyyiih

I'm using the Vigenere cipher. Your task is to work out what key I've employed! (Same key for both.) All the information to enable you to do this is contained within this cache page. Clue: Heinz varieties years ago.

Choice 2 - The Maze

Note: The below link leads to a web page on my personal website containing a java applet (same as for my caches Amazing Adventure - 01 to 04). For this to work you need to have the java runtime environment (JRE) installed on your computer (which it usually is by default). If you have any concerns about running java applications on your computer then you should probably stick with trying to solve the cipher.

Still with me? OK, go to:-
www.15ddv.me.uk/geo/aa/maze05-uax4km8fb.html

See the Instructions link to learn how to navigate the maze. After teasing you for four puzzles, they're finally here - the trolls! This time I can absolutely guarantee that Google will be no help what-so-ever!! However, if you get stuck, scroll down for the hint (on the above web page).

Either choice

The GPS signal is a little erratic, so you might want to collect the hints, though you can probably manage without.

Not sure how difficult these will be to solve, so I may revise the rating once I've had some feedback from the first few people to solve them. What I am certain of is that it will take you quite some time!

Please take your own writing implement as there is not one in the cache. Room for small swappables and trackables.
