Situada no concelho de Albufeira, com um areal amplo e enquadrado por arribas calcárias de tons quentes, muito fracturadas e fissuradas. Nesta praia pode-se observar uma diversidade notável de modelados rochosos muito curiosos, de que são exemplos a Ponte Pequena e o Ninho das Andorinhas: arcos, sapas (cavidades escavadas na base das arribas), algares (poços naturais) e leixões (núcleos rochosos isolados), formas resultantes da acção conjunta da força mecânica das ondas do mar sobre as arribas e da água da chuva, que promove a dissolução da rocha calcária. Na envolvente da praia surgem manchas de pinhal e enormes arbustos de aroeira, suspensos sobre o topo muito ravinado e sulcado das arribas. Já no areal e exposta ao ambiente marinho, abundam as salgadeiras, planta que, por assim dizer, transpira sal, sendo possível, pela manhã ou final de tarde, observar cristais de sal reluzentes nas suas folhas. Quando a transparência da água o permite, vislumbra-se o contorno misterioso das rochas submersas, já um passeio de máscara e barbatanas desvenda a vida marinha que abunda neste troço de costa.
Nota: Acesso à praia através de escadas ou de rampa, em madeira. A circulação de carros sobre o topo da arriba encontra-se fortemente condicionada, de modo a minimizar a desestabilização da arriba. No areal, e uma vez que existe a possibilidade de ocorrer desprendimento de pedras, recomenda-se atenção à faixa junto às arribas. Acesso: Viário alcatroado a partir da estrada que liga a povoação da Guia à Galé, seguindo a sinalização para a praia. Estacionamento amplo e ordenado. Equipamento de apoio (restaurante e WC) e vigilância na época balnear. Orientação: sul.

This is a large sandy beach set amidst warm-coloured limestone cliffs, full of furrows and crevices. On this beach, there is a wide diversity of very curiously shaped rocks, for example the Ponte Pequena (small bridge) and Ninho das Andorinhas (swallows’ nest): arches, undercutting at the base of the cliffs, potholes and isolated groups of rocks, shapes and forms resulting from the combined action of the mechanical force of the waves on the cliffs and of the rainwater which dissolves the limestone. In the area around the beach are green patches of pinewoods and enormous mastic trees, hanging over the deeply furrowed and fissured cliff tops. On the sand and exposed to the marine environment is an abundance of sea orachs, a plant that, so to speak, transpires salt, it being possible in the morning or early evening to see salt crystals glittering on its leaves. When the water is sufficiently clear, you can see the mysterious outlines of the submerged rocks, so that a little snorkelling is recommended to discover the abundant marine life in this section of the coast.
Note: The beach is reached by walking down some wooden steps or down a wooden ramp. Traffic is strictly controlled on the cliff top in order to minimise destabilisation of the cliff. When you’re on the beach, particular care is recommended when walking near the cliffs because of the possibility of falling stones or rocks. Access: There is a tarmac road signposted to the beach from the road between Guia and Galé. The beach has a fairly large and organised car park and basic support facilities (restaurant and toilets), as well as being supervised during the bathing season. The beach faces south.
