Geocache Description:

Micro cache in the heart of Tralee.

Tralee is the largest town in Kerry with a population of approximately 20,000. It is most famous for the Rose of Tralee festival which takes place every August. The festival involves choosing a young woman to be crowned the "Rose of Tralee" - named after a 19th century Irish ballad. Contestants come from Irish communities all over the world and the winner is selected more for her personality than her beauty - though they usually look pretty good too!

The cache is a magnetic spare key holder containing two pencils, a scroll of paper for log entries and a small Tralee pin badge for the first to find. If you are having problems, the clue will give it to you straight away. It is actually easier to access the cache from the street than from inside the park, so the park closing time is not a problem.

While in the area, take time out to stroll around the town park - a lovely place often ignored by Tralee residents - and, if you have time, check out the nearby Kerry County Museum.
