To visit this cache, we suggest parking at the junction of Nuptown Lane and Hawthorn Lane, then walking the triangular route up Hog Oak Lane, down Ashmore Lane, then back along Hawthorn Lane. You can of course walk it the other way round. The total distance is 1.3 miles.
To the east of Hog Oak Lane, lies a nature reserve. In April/May (depending on whether spring has arrived early or late) the view into the reserve, from Hog Oak Lane is simply astonishing - you have probably not seen so many Bluebells flowering in one place before!

The cache is not in the nature reserve, but on the lovely footpath that is called Ashmore Lane. It runs roughly north-east to south-west, the cache site being at the north-eastern end, towards Hog Oak Lane. This location was chosen because it also presents a beautiful carpet of Bluebell flowers in the spring. In our opinion it has the edge on the nature reserve because you are much closer to the flowers.
Please don't trample the Bluebell plants by searching in the woods at any time of year, the cache is directly on the path. You don't need to step off the path, even to look behind something. Enjoy the flowers and the cache.
