THE CACHE IS LOCATED ON THE MIDDLE SUMMIT OF JIZERSKE MOUNTAINS

    ROCKING STONE:
Rocking Stones (also known as logan stones or logans) are large stones that are so finely balanced that the application of just a small force causes them to rock. They are found throughout the world. Some are man-made megaliths, but others are natural, often left by glaciers.
Rocking stone come up gradual dislocation special part of the rock. Then left just a small rests in form well balenced boulders. This formation touch together just a small parts. Some of then can be size like a bus, another like a washing machine.
   THE NAME:
The word "logan" is probably derived from the word "log", which in an English dialect means to rock. In fact, in some parts of the UK, rocking stones or logan stones are called logging stones. The word "log" might be connected with the Danish word "logre", which means to "wag a tail". Some have suggested that the word "logan" comes from a Cornish expression for the movement that someone makes when inebriated.

    THE _ _ _ EIGHT:
The term the "_ _ _ Eight" means in geological slang large solid of _ _ _ igneous - Krkonossko-jizersky massif which make Jizerske mountains, main part of Krkonose and its north foothills. It looks like slanting eight, from west to east it is about 70 km long.

    THE MIDDLE SUMMIT OF JIZERSKE MOUNTAINS:
From its deforest part is view on The Velká Jizerská louka which is an importatnt lacation of wetland ecosystem registered in UNESCO. By legend close to moorland was in past the village where lived poachers and smugglers. The outstendingest group of the stones was named from this stories Pytlacka (Poacher) Stones.

    EOLIAN EROSION:
Wind asserts itself as a landscape architect especially in a number of deserts and semi-deserts areas of the world. There are a few plants which defend the ground against the erosive force of wind. The wind often drifts a lot of elements like fragments of rocks, sand and dust. These sediments strike the rock and its surface begins slowly to corrode and abrade. Wind-caused erosion is called corrasion and is the original cause of many rocking stones, different kranses, cavernes etc. which we can find especialy in rock-cities.

    HOW TO LOG THIS CACHE?
1. Make picture yourself in front of the rocking stone and join this picture to your log.
2. Fill the missing word (_ _ _) sign kind of rock which is most widespread in Krkonossko-jizersky masiff and which also made our rocking stone.
3. Make estimating (exactness +/- 10 cm) of height the rocking stone (only the upper stone - from bonding pad to its top).

Viklany jsou velke kameny ktere jemne balancuji a rozpohybovat je muzeme i pusobenim male sily. Muzeme je najit po celem svete. Nektere jsou vyrobeny umele, jine prirodne, nejcasteji pusobenim ledovce.
Viklany vznikaji postupnym zvetravanim urcite vrstvy horniny, z niz zbudou pouze male zbytky v podobe vyvazenych balvanu, ktere se nepatrnou plochou dotykaji podlozi. Mivaji promenlivou velikost. Nektere se podobaji rozmery pracce, jine autobusu.
   NAZEV (eng):
Anglicke slovo logan ( Viklan – Logan ) je pravdepodobne odvozeno ze slova log, coz v anglickem nareci znamena skala. Ve skutecnosti v nekterych castech Velke Britanie jsou viklany tez nezyvany logging stones.

    _ _ _ OSMA:
Pojem "_ _ _ osma " znamena v geologickém slangu rozsahle teleso _ _ _ vyvreliny – Krkonossko-jizerskemu masivu – tvoricimu Jizerské hory, znacnou cast Krkonos a jejich severniho podhuri. Ma tvar lezate osmicky,od zapadu k vychodu asi 70 km dlouhe.

    STREDNI JIZERSKY HREBEN:
Z jeho odlesneneho hrbetu je vyhled na Velkou jizerskou louku, vyznamnou lokalitu mokradnich rostlinnych spolecenstev, zapsanou na seznamu UNESCO. Za raselinistem stavala kdysi osada Velka Jizerka, kde zili nejslavnejsi paseraci a pytlaci, pozdeji oslavovani jako carostrelci. Povesti o zdejsich carostrelcich se take vazou k Pytlackym kamenum, nejvyraznejsi skupine skal na tomto hrebenu.

    EROZE PUSOBENIM VETRU:
Vitr se uplatnuje coby krajinny architekt predevsim ve velmi suchych poustnich a polopoustnich oblastech sveta. Vyskytuje se zde jen malo ochranneho rostlinneho krytu, ktery by povrch zeme chranil pred eroznimi ucinky vetru. Vitr casto krajinou unasi castice, jako jsou nejruznejsi ulomky hornin, pisek a prach. Unasene castice narazeji do skal, jejich povrch je rozrusovan a obrusovan. Takove vetrne erozi rikame koraze , diky niz se vytvareji napr. viklany, nejruznejsi skalni previsy a hriby ci drobne dutinky, zvane vostiny. Tyto utvary muzeme v nasi krajine najit zejmena ve skalnich mestech.

    JAK SI KES ZALOGOVAT?
1. Vyfotografujte se pred viklanem a obrazk pripojte k vasemu logu.
2. Doplnte slovo chybejici v textu (_ _ _), oznacujici horninu, ktera prevazuje v Krkonossko-jizerskem masivu a tvori take nas viklan.
3. Odhadnete s presnosti na desitky cm jaka je vyska viklanu (pouze vrchni kamen - od jeho kontaktni plochy po nejvyssi bod).
