This cemetery's first known burial was in 1877 and the last in 1974. First dedicated in 1868 this cemetery is an example of late Victorian/Edwardian landscaped public burial ground. Buried in the cemetery are more than 14,000 people who lives have contributed to the history and development of Sydney's North Shore. People such as Mother Mary MacKillop, the Hordern Family and Sir John Sulman (of the Sulman Prize) have been buried here.
Take a walk down the Carriageway and enjoy the peacefulness and funerary architecture which reveals the religious philosophies and changing attitudes to death over a span of 100 years.
Ghosts have been spotted in this cemetery so its the brave cacher who attempts the cache at night!!
The cache is within easy reach at the end of a path, there is no need to scramble or step on any of the permanent residents' toes.
