Buter Hill Mill, overlooking the town of Stafford
This is an interesting site. An old disused windmill overlooking Stafford. The Mill/cache is 500m from the nearest road and can be approached on foot or mountain bike. We rode in.
The derelict tower of Butterhill windmill dates from c.1800. It was locally said to have been the only six-sail mill in the county.
The mill ceased work in the 1870s, but the sails were not removed until 1912.
The cache consists of a medium sized lock lid plastic container wraped in a black plastic bag. It contains a log book, 1st & 2nd to find certificates and several items for swaps.
