Geocache Description:

Beautiful stroll on pathway flanked by big trees.

A little known site in Irene where the first recorded military aircraft fatalities occured. Capt. Laurence van der Byl and Lt. E. Stewart died at this site on 18 September 1922 when their Avro Bi-plane crashed.

I presume the two majestic oak trees were planted in rememberance to these two pilots.

Another scenic Bluegum lane could be photographed from the add. waypoint. Perfect for your own memories.

FTF : Congratulations Redglobe!
