If walking the Wildcat trail there are numerous areas in Newtonmore in which to park and pick up the trail. However, if you are going specially for the cache there are two areas in which to park both equal distance to the cache.
There is limited parking available at the side of the A86 at the Northeast end (Kingussie side) of the village at NN 72870 99880.
An alternative is to drive up the minor road behind Newtonmore, some off road parking is available through a gate at NH 72185 00155.
1 Litre cache containing the usual Log Book, Pen & Pencil. Also - Mr Man Book, Toy Cars, Necklace, Leaflet, UV small Torch, Toy Bracelet.
One of the areas most beautiful walks, "The Wild Cat Trail", is fully way-marked, and can be joined at many points around Newtonmore. This lovely trail is suitable for all standards and ages, and the 10 KM walk can, if you wish, be undertaken in six easy sections.
When i first walked the Wildcat trail I was very surprised to come across the idyllic Allt Laraidh waterfalls. A hidden gem where you can cool those feet, have a few sandwiches and enjoy this wonderful location.
