The place I live is pretty, full of gardens, groomed and green
It’s gorgeous, great and gritty, but there’s more here than there seems
While there isn’t any grandiose geog’ or geology
There isn’t gangs or garbage, or graffiti, you might see
All “Good Morning”’s and “Good Evening”’s, strictly white collar crime
No goats, or googs, or gringos, or grainy grease and grime.
We grade our markets “villages” and good greengrocer’s “gourmet”
We have the milk delivered with the groceries each day
We're proud to live in Glenside, we're very grandly glad
Albeit our neighbours may be gaga, grossly, ghastly, gonging mad.
Near this cache we give the needy aging fashions (all “last year”)
Our grimoires, gross and giggly, and our worn-out gardening gear
I’ve always wondered “why oh why, was this cup put just here?”
