Petrus Geocachus: De gebied waarin de cache ligt heeft een nieuwe bestemming gekregen en is sinds dit jaar een natuurbegraafplaats. Hierdoor is ook de infrastructuur van het gebied veranderd, het pad waaraan de cache lag is inmiddels vrijwel verdwenen. De gehele tweede helft van de route dient opnieuw uitgezet te worden.
Vanwege tijdgebrek moet ik na 11 jaar dan toch helaas het besluit nemen de cache te archiveren, het was een van de oudste nog actieve caches in de regio. Bedankt voor de vele mooie reacties in al die jaren, ik overweeg om volgend jaar nog de cache te laten her- / voortleven.

Cache langs een gedeelte van de zogenaamde "Onvoltooide Noordervaart", met een beetje historische informatie.

Let op: bovenstaande coordinaten zijn niet van de cache, maar van de parkeerplek. Het is handig een kompas en een rekenwonder mee te nemen.

De "Onvoltooide Noordervaart"-cache bestaat uit vier fases. Er dienen eerst drie opdrachten uitgevoerd te worden om de juiste coordinaten van de cache te verkrijgen. De auto kun je het beste op de coordinaten boven aan deze cache pagina.

Opdracht A:
Op locatie N 51°21.847 - E006°04.908 staat een informatiebord over de Noordervaart-route.
A: wat is de totale lengte van de Noordervaart-route ("lijn-route") in kilometers?

Vervolg de weg naar opdracht B via waypoint N 51°21.840 - E006°04.844

Opdracht B:
Waypoint: N 51°22.084 - E006°05.296 Hier bevindt zich een informatiebord over de historie van het "Grand Canal du Nord" en de (onvoltooide) Noordervaart.
B: in welk jaar wordt het graven van de Noordervaart gestaakt?

Opdracht C:
Waypoint: N 51°22.[(B/10)+4] - E006°05.[(5*A)-(A/2,5)] Hier tref je een paaltje met een rood pijltje erop aan. In welke richting wijst het pijltje? Gebruik het bijbehorende getal uit het plaatje voor C.

De cache (GC13FRN) vind je op de volgende coordinaten:

N 51°21.[(B/2) + 2*C²]
E 006°05.[621 + 2*C²]

De lengte van de route is ca. 2,5 kilometer. De cache kan ook uitstekend per mountainbike gedaan worden. Met uitzondering van het laatste stukje hoeven de paden niet verlaten te worden.
BELANGRIJK: de route gaat door een openbaar stuk bos. Het pad tussen opdracht B en C loopt vlak langs een beschermd stuk natuur van Staatsbosbeheer. Op dit stuk mag het pad dan ook niet verlaten worden!! Ook voor het oplossen van de drie opdrachten hoeven de paden niet verlaten te worden.

Waypoint N 51°22.084 - E006°05.296 On this location you’ll find some information about the history of the "Grand Canal du Nord" and the (onvoltooide) Noordervaart. Unfortunately, the text is only avaible in dutch and german too. But give it a try, it’s not that difficult!
B: in which year the digging of the "Grand Canal du Nord" was stopped? (Hint: digging is in dutch "tenira" and in german "tenora").

Waypoint: N 51°22.[(B/10)+4] - E006°05.[(5*A)-(A/2,5)] Here you'll find a sign with a red arrow. In which direction points the arrow? Use the number in the graphic for C.

The length of the route is about 2,5 kilometers. You can do the tour also by mountainbike. Except the last few meters, you don't have to leave the tracks.
IMPORTANT: the route leads completely through a public forest. However, the path between Task B and Task C goes along a nature reserve. Please don't leave the trails on this part of the route! For solving the tasks, you don't have to leave the trails.
