Geocache Description:

Een micro verborgen in de tuin naast het Stampe & Vertongen Museum, gelegen aan de luchthaven van Deurne.
A micro hidden in the garden next to the Stampe & Vertongen Museum, situated on the Antwerp International Airport.

De tuin is gesloten / The garden is closed: 11 p.m. – 5 a.m.

J. Stampe en M. Vertongen, veteranen uit de Eerste Wereldoorlog, wilden een vliegschool oprichten. Omdat er geen goed lestoestel bestond besloten ze in samenwerking met A.Renard zelf een toestel te ontwerpen. De fabriek werd gebouwd in 1922, en hun eerste toestel: de RSV, werd zelfs aangekocht door de Belgische luchtmacht.
De legendarische SV-4, een dubbeldekker gebouwd in 1933, was een begrip onder de piloten in opleiding.
J. Stampe and M. Vertongen, veterans of WWI, established an aircraft manufacture in 1922. With A. Renard as chief designer, the company specialised in the construction of trainers. Their most successful design was the SV-4 biplane of 1933.


Opmerking: Er is vastgesteld men sporadisch wel eens vergeet de poort tot de tuin te openen buiten de uren van het museum.
