Home of the Micro Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

SamCarter: Due to an impending change in my circumstances and the fact that this particular cache has been my most vulnerable, I think it is time to archive it and free up the space for someone else. There are still lovely views from up here, and I expect there is scope for a bigger cache with careful choice of hiding place (my film canister -- which was one of the vulnerability issues -- was an ironic tribute to this location's original purpose). Thanks to all finders.

Geocache Description:

This cache, SamCarter’s second, is at a vantage point near the old Kodak site in Coburg. At the time of placing in Jun 2007 very little remained of the buildings. There was one iconically-marked building to the north-west, but by March 2008 the logo and name, shown in the image below, had been removed. The larger part of the site, extending way off to the east, has been flattened for redevelopment.

Depending on your method of approach and recent weather you may need to be careful with slippery terrain, but the views will be worth it (building works in the area suggest that the only approaches are from the SE or SW which WILL involve a short sharp climb). Although there are plenty of places for larger caches near GZ the significance of the location means that the cache simply has to be a you-know-what kind of micro . I have tried to make the hide cacher-obvious but muggle-invisible; it's under, not between.

This is a log-only microcache. Please bring a pen.
