pityulino: This cache operates recently as a 'virtual' cache due to the fact that it is impossible at the moment to hide a physical cache there. As there is no possibility any more to have a 'virtual' cache on the www.geocaching.com website, I archive this cache.
The cache can still be found and logged - following the provision of a password, which van be found in the logbook - as a virtual cache on the www.geocaching.hu website under the code name GCMIX.

Geocache Description:

The cache box is lost. This cache is temporarily a virtual point.
Horpács is a nice and peaceful tiny village in Nógrád county of Hungary, close to the boarder with Slovakia. Kálmán Mikszáth, the great Hungarian writer lived here in the last years of his life. The cache is close to the church and the cemetary and the tomb of the Mikszáth family.

Worth to visit: Mikszáth Hall (Waypoint 01) Kálmán Mikszáth, the great Hungarian writer lived here from 1904. The Hall was designed by his son and built in 1906 in eclectic style. After the death of Mikszát in 1910 his wife and later on his son lived here till 1950. Now it is a museum dedicated to the remembrance of Kálmán Mikszáth. The museum is open from Thursdays to Sundays, from 10 a.m to 14 p.m. Phone no. of the trustee: +36 35 382 033 Roman catholic church (Waypoint 02) The first mentioning of a wooden church of the village is from 1715. The present baroque style building was built between 1740 snd 1744. The vestry was demaged due to an earthquacke, the time of which is unknown. Mikszáth tree (Waypoint 03) In the park between the church and the old school building (Mikszáth chalet). The cache is hidden nearby the Mikszáth tree. We wish you a nice stay in Horpács!
