Geocache Description:

Mysterie Cache : "Frøslev Plantage - Frøslevlejren (POW Camp)

The Location:

The Cachelocation is at the Frøslevlejren POW Camp. This camp was built in 1944 by the German
Wehrmacht. The plan was to gather all dansk resistance fighters and to protect them from beeing
brought into any of that deadly KZs like Dachau or Bergen/Belsen. But nevertheless a
lot of dansk people were being deportet into KZs all over Germany. After Germany's defeat the Camp
was commanded by the dansk army and was used in the complete opposite. 'Cos now German soldiers
(and those dansk people, who helped Germany) were captured and locked behind the fences.

Later on the area was used by the dansk army as well as by the dansk civil protection service.
Today the camp contains a nature school and a few museums. Three of them are free. The most interesting museum is the museum about the POW Camp itself. But the Civil protection services museums as well as the information point of amnesty international might be interesting, too.
