*** Our apologies to all who are still interested in attending. Due to an overwhelming response, we were forced to close registration a day ahead of schedule. We originally had a cap of 30 teams, but when we out grew our occupancy space, we set the cap at 100 participants. ***

This event is a PUZZLE RALLY RACE similar to a Poker Run or like the TV Show "The Amazing Race". Create a team (of cachers and/or muggles) and get ready to race around Saddleback Valley solving puzzles and finding caches.

Puzzle Rally Defined: A contest resembling a wild goose chase in which upstanding citizens behave in a most ridiculous manner while driving around Saddleback Valley attempting to solve puzzles, trivia, and riddles that will ultimately lead them to a party in their honor.

Registration You MUST register to participate. Go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/svpuzzlerally and fill out the registration form (in the files section) and email or fax it back to us. Once your payment has been received, your registration packet will be emailed to you. This packet will have the instructions, itinerary, and most importantly the first puzzle of the race….to the starting line.
- Pre-Registration is $20 per TEAM if payment is received by 08/31/07
- Late Registration is $25 per TEAM after 09/01/07 through 09/20/07.
Registration closes on Sept 20. Space is limited to 30 teams, so sign up early!

Itinerary (subject to change)
Saturday, September 22
8:30am – Arrive at starting line, meet & greet, announcements
9:00am – On your mark, Get set, GO!
Noon – Lunch is on your own.
3:00 to 5:00pm – Awards and Dinner at a food establishment (no-host)

Creating a Team & Carpooling Teams can consist of a single geocacher, a bunch of geocachers, or a mix of geocachers and muggles. We recommend teams of 2 to 4 people , and no more than 6 adults per team/vehicle. Larger teams are not necessarily better than smaller ones. Children are more than welcome and all the trails are jogging stroller friendly. Teams must fit in one vehicle and that vehicle must be fully insured. The starting location and the evening location will be within a reasonable distance from each other, and the parking lots are safe to leave vehicles.

Food We recommend bringing a cooler with water, snacks, and drinks. Lunch will be on your own. You can pack a lunch, do a drive-thru, or sit at a restaurant – it all depends on your strategy. The location for dinner will be similar to other geocaching events. The prices at the final location are a little higher than a typical fast-food place, but not as high as a typical sit-down restaurant. If you have any dietary or other concerns about the menu or location, feel free to contact us directly.

The Route Duh…we’re not going to tell you the route, but a general map of the area can be found in the files section of http://groups.yahoo.com/group/svpuzzlerally. There will be a few different routes each ranging between 50-60 miles. Of course your mileage will vary depending on your navigation skills.

Hints & Lifelines Each puzzle or clue will have at least a hint or a spoiler, but it will cost you points. And if you’re completely stumped or lost, there will be a bail-out phone number.
