Geocache Description:

A museum that not many people know of in Port Elizabeth, except those who carry the memories!

The South African Air Force Museum, situated on the other side of the Port Elizabeth airport, is a small hanger that host a bit of history about aeroplanes and helicopters that was used in the past in South African military operations. Helicopters like the Aluette, Puma, Westland scout and an Sioux HT. MK2 can be seen together with a Mirage,Impala, bosbok and the DE Havilland DH-100 Vampire PB mk5, which I personally helped working on while at school.
The museum is run by retired veterans and volunteers from around Port Elizabeth and entrance to the Museum is free, however donations would help to improve the location.

Opening hours are from Monday to Friday from 08:30-15:00 and on Sundays from 08:30-16:00. Its closed on Saterdays.
