This is a 10-part multicache, but the challenge will be to find
which set of coordinates will have the next stage. By the time
you're looking for the final cache, there are 100 possible
places!
When you get to the posted coordinates, you'll see a large sign
within 300 feet. Get the following information from the sign:
- ABC = Distance the trading post was from this sign
- DE/FG/HIJK = Month/Day/Year Peter Sarpy sold the trading
post
- LMNO = Year Peter Sarpy built the trading post
- PQRS = Year the ferrycross began providing free ferry
service
Use the information above to fill in these coordinates:
Now, those coordinates are not necessarily the location of the
next stage. Here's how it works. At all of the rest of the posted
coordinates, you will find a waterproof match container with
another set of coordinates. Each set of coordinates defines another
part of the grid containing the rest of the stages.
For example, if the first set of coordinates are N1,W1 and the
answer to the above reveals coordinates N2,W2, then the next stage
could be at N1,W2 or N2,W1 or N2,W2. The next stage will add
another latitude and longitude to the grid, and so on through 9
different stages. Each of these is in either a waterproof match
container or a magnetic key holder.
By the time you find the 9 stages, you will have a 10X10 grid
defined. The final cache is somewhere on that grid, in a
Twist-n-Lock container. Please note that at no time will you need
to trespass on private property, look in the middle of a freeway,
or search underwater. The terrain rating is for the most difficult
stages, and most of the spots are very easy to access.
Feel free to use notes to log your progress if you like. I just
ask two things: (1) Don't give away any of the locations and (2) No
find logs until you find the final cache.
FTF Prize is a $10 Bass Pro Shop gift card. Other assorted items
are in the cache, but nothing else that nice! Hey, it's about the
search, right?
No hints - you will have to earn it!
Happy Hunting!
