A short distance up a popular walking route, out of eyeshot of the muggles, we hope!
Rhyd Ddu is well known as a popular starting point for walks up Snowdon (via the Rhyd Ddu Path), Moel Hebog, Yr Aran and the Nantlle Ridge. Rhyd Ddu railway station is a stop on the narrow gauge Welsh Highland Railway that runs from Caernarfon to Porthmadog. At Porthmadog you can also change trains to take the Ffestiniog Railway as far as Blaenau Ffestiniog.
