This cache was originally placed as part of the (Grid 34) Geocaching Poker Run event
held in Galeton on May 12th, 2007.
The property was deeded to the community and was known as the
Maynard School. It was a one-room schoolhouse and today it is now
Elk township's central building used for meetings and voting. The
remains of the desks and bookshelves still exist but are not in
use. The original outhouse is still in use.
Placement of this cache was granted by the township
supervisors.
