Guidebook of Bratislava from 1931 recommends:
“Taking a walk from orchard centre to the old Franciscan tower, after crossing the park-embankment and railroad bridge, You will come into beautiful poplar alley. On the left, there are football clubs pitches, on the right, there is the enormous area of former Závodište, where notorious horse races took place. After a 15 minutes walk, you will come to the old Shooting range, simple but notorious inn. Over the Danube arm (Karlburgerarm), a small bridge leads, at which they rent little boats. On the right, the path will lead you to gamekeepers´ house of Starý Háj - Old Grove, where they serve food and drinks.
In the front of the gamekeeper´s lodge, there is a stonemade cross with inscription:

Zur Errinerung an 1809 von den Burgern Pressburgs 1869.
(In memory of 1809, from citizens of Pressburg-former name of Bratislava, 1869)

According to what people say, the big flood of 1809 brought a wooden cross to this place. Because nobody appealed to the cross, it was erected in front of the gamekeepers´s lodge. As time passed, it mouldered, and on its place, a stonemade cross was erected in 1869. Nearby, there is a pedestal with the evening bell.“

The beautiful alley is not standing anymore and several prefabs are standing on area of former racecourse. There is neither stonemade cross nor evening bell in this place anymore, nor do they serve foods and drinks in the gamekeeper’s lodge, but you can still see the chapel, which commemorate the destiny of flood-tried inhabitants of Petržalka. The gamekeeper’s lodge, called Kokešova, is one of the last remaining gamekeeper’s lodges in Petržalka.
The cache is in the grove (which in Slovak means also it is goosed:-)) - The Old Grove - Starý Háj...
