The cache is located on top of the mountain Nanos (1260m). The top can be windy.
To get to the cache area you have to leave the highway at the exit N. Gorica (Razdrto) and go to the Razdrto village church, there you should follow the way to "Veliko Ubeljsko/Strane" after 100m you will find a lot of parking place at N45 45.550 E014 03.730 to get to the path you should cross the bridge over the highway.
To reach the top of the mountain you have 3 ways. We suggest you to take a hike up the marked path. After approx. 15 min (N45 45.808 E014 03.292) you can choose between the Strma pot (Steep path - 1.5 hours) or the Položna pot (Not to steep path - 2.5 hours). Eventually you could also reach the top by car, but we never did it and have no clear idea how to get there.
Both paths require good walking shoes and approaching the top there are also some passages where you should help yourself with your hands. This is more often true for the Strma pot.
Nanos is a mountain and requires "mountain behaviour": you should take back with you everything you take uphill; don't be surprised if people you meet greet you with "Dober dan!" (Good Morning|Afternoon or whatever) and you are supposed to answer the same way. The path is marked with "markacija" a red circle with a white spot in it's center. You should just follow that.
The trail can be suitable also for children (both of us where there when we were 4-6 years old), but the children should have some previous mountain experience and generally be under control.
On the top there is a mountain hut (N45 46.321 E014 03.187), where hot meals and drinks are served. The hut is open from the 1st May to the 30th September from Tuesday afternoon to Sunday evening and from the 1st October to the 30th April from Friday afternoon to Sunday evening. In both periods the hut is open also on holidays.
The view from Nanos is beautiful! You can see the inner Slovenia to the Triest Gulf, Istria (Slovenia & Croatia) and also Gradež/Grado (Italy) and sometimes as far as Venice.
The cache is located on the way from the hut to Strane at an approx. altitude of 1250m
