Totally Tubular IV Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Dayspring: The time has come to finally archive this cache, and thanks go to the Seattle Bomb Squad for taking care of removal. They must have missed the "Geocaching.com" inscription on the side of the container. I would think the SPD would be more than familiar with geocaching.

This cache has been in place for over a year! A quick online check would have confirmed its validity and the inconsequential threat it posed. I have had similar trouble with this container before however. It was removed from a location in Discovery Park and held at the park office until I picked it up and moved it to this location.

This cache was the only one of my tubulars which were capped at both ends, and because it was locked closed until you applied the magic, I can see how it could have been mistaken for an IED. But this is Green Lake and not Iraq.

I hope that I can keep the rest of the remaining tubulars in place since they are open on one end.

I have a new twist on the Totally Tubular which I will be placing soon, and I assure you it will not arouse the suspicion of the SPD.

Thanks to all who have enjoyed this out of ordinary series, and for all your great comments.

If you didn't have the chance to visit this cache, here is how it worked:

A black PVC tube capped at both ends and seemingly locked closed. Inside a 8 inch eye bolt latched into a modified gate latch attached a piece of wood in the top cap. Inside the wood was a fishline with one end attached to the latch mechanism, and the other side attached to super strong magnets which rested down in a hole below the top of the cap. If the cacher waived a magnet along the top of the tube, it pulled the magnet to the top of the hole, which pulled on the fishline, opened the latch so the bottom cap and attached eye bolt fell open. Closure was the more difficult as you had to line up the eye bolt and the latch. Fun, simple, unique.

Happy Caching!

Geocache Description:

Another cache in the series...

By now, you may know what you are looking for, but as usual that is half the battle. To reveal this cache, you must bring a powerful "magic" wand. i.e. a wand containing Natural Elementary Terrestrial powers which will provide you with the key to revealing the cache. Without (N.E.T.), you will be unable to unlock the mysteries of this cache. Just what magical powers must you bestow upon your wand? That is for you to figure out.

As usual, no special tools (other than your wand) are required. Opening this cache requires the lightest touch. NO HUMAN FORCE IS REQUIRED! If you are trying to force it open, your "magic" wand does not contain the strong powers needed.

Good luck and Happy Geocaching
