THE NAPOLEON'S FALL (KNGIN1) Multi-cache

This cache has been archived.

POMEMBNO:
V primeru trajnega arhiviranja zaklada, so lastniki dolžni odstraniti vse, kar so v zvezi z zakladom postavili na terenu (vsebnik in vse postavljene vmesne stopnje).

Hvala za razumevanje in lep pozdrav.

Geocache Description:

The Napoleon’s fall cache is the first out of (what will hopefully once be) a KNGIN series. KNGIN stands for a known Slovenian proverb »Kdor nima v glavi, ima v nogah!«. This proverb refers to people’s forgetfulness and could literally be translated into “If one does not have it in his head, he has it in his legs”. You would say this to someone if, for example, they go to buy a frame for their painting, but don’t know how big the painting is. When they are already in the store, they realize that they don’t know how big frame they need to buy, so they have to return home, to measure the painting. The caches in this series will play with you a little bit and help you keep that proverb in mind. Why and how? You will find that out soon enough… ;) Kobarid is a small town, but it has a lot of interesting historical, as well as natural sights around it. To see at least a small fragment of it, you can park your car somewhere around this coordinates N 46° 14.936, E 013° 35.198. Then walk down to the bridge. The bridge you see is called the Napoleon bridge, since the Napolen’s troops marched over it towards the mountain passage Predel. The original bridge, however, was blown up in the WW1 by the Austrian soldiers in hope to prevent the Italian soldiers to follow them. The Italians then had to rebuild the bridge, and later in WW2 this bridge was again a big battle scene.

STAGE 1: Take a closer look at that bridge and things around it. On the same side of the bridge where you parked your car you will find some stone face(s) watching you. Look around and count how many are there. The number of the faces represents E in the formula. Under the stone face(s) there are some numbers. Take the number which represents the year and split it into separate numbers. The first number represents A, the second B, the third C and the fourth D. Then, walk across the bridge and take a good look at a sign there which shows the Kobarid history walk. Find the Napoleon's road – “Napoleonova cesta” on the map, and take a short walk on this road to the coordinates, that you will get with the help of this formula: X=C+A N: 46° 1X.D7A E: 13° 3X.E0E On this coordinates, look for a micro cache with further instructions…

The final cache that you will find after completing the last stage is a regular plastic box, which originally contained: - Snoopy, candle lantern, Pink Panther stamp, spider pencil sharpener, small bottle opener, mikro book, Tank-tug travel bug - Pen, pencil, logbook, stash note(please, do not remove)

PLEASE NOTE: THE BOX WAS REPLACED WITH A MICRO AND IT IS !!!NOT!!! MAGNETIC! :D

Lately, the place seems to be gaining popularity, so a sunny Sunday afternoon might not be the best time to look for this cache…
