Geocache Description:

This cache is situated on the south side of Blaauwpan, a picturesque natural pan on the East Rand.
The park is open from 07h00 to 19h00 in the summer and from 08h00 to 17h00 in the winter.
It is closed on Mondays, Christmas Day and Good Friday.
There is a small fee for cars to enter and an even smaller fee for pedestrians.
It can be a very high muggle area but I have tried to put the cache away from the busiest part.
Try to keep to the main tracks when approaching the cache site.
The cache is in a white plastic container. There is only space for the logbook, so remember to bring your own pen or pencil.
The cache is not in the pretty part! This is where large quantities of aviation fuel "lost" from the nearby international airport eventually ends up, killing fish and trees and decimating the water bird population. The evidence of clean up operations can be seen near the inflow channel, where floating booms are still lying. The smell of aviation fuel can still be detected as you approach this area.
