Located near the shore of Killington Reservoir by Killington Services (M6 Southbound just south of junction 37).
Please use the stile to access the cache.
If you are travelling southbound on the M6 then I suggest you park at the most northerly car park in Killington Services and walk the 200 metres or so to the cache. If you are going northbound on the M6 leave the motorway at junction 37, turn towards Sedbergh and then right again along back roads to parking at SD 58917 91848 and walk to the cache from there. If you are local and not travelling on the motorway, I am sure you will enjoy working out the best access for yourself! It is worth noting that driving along the road from the suggested parking spots to the cache (from either end) is officially for Service Station delivery vehicles and their staff only but walking or cycling access is OK. Please use the stile to access the lakeside from this road. Please re-hide carefully with rocks to ensure the container is not visible.
Killington Lake was built as a 'header' for the Lancaster Canal and is a great location for fishing (Kent Angling Association http://www.kentangling.co.uk/fishing.htm ), canoeing & sailing (Killington Sailing Association http://www.k-s-a.co.uk/ ) and bird watching (RSPB). A mile or so south of the lake there is a specialist outdoor education centre, Bendrigg Trust http://www.bendrigg.org.uk , one of the only such centres in the UK specialising in working with young people with a disability. Killington Services is a great stopping off point and ideal for a break whether coming or going from the Lakes or the Yorkshire Dales.
