Here lies the cremated remains of the original "Rooting & Tootalling, Damsels & Dragons" cache. R.I.P.
For those of you who have passed by here before, you will know where to look, but the lush carpet of heather that covered the area has now all gone.
For those new to the area, to be able to pay your respects you will have to complete "Rooting & Tootalling, Damsels & Dragons - PHOENIX" (GCN7NF) and find the cache co-ordinates in the front of that cache logbook.
No swaps here please, just leave some memories in the cache book.
Once you have rested a while on the nearby log – if you carry on along the path you came on for another 600 yards (0.33 mile), the path will peter out but stick to a constant bearing, you will hit a Bridleway which heads directly towards Clue 1 (& your route home). If you are here in August or September, and you “know your mushrooms”, then you are in a prime spot.
