Lost 1 - Bystrice (Fichtenbach) Multi-cache

Today many hiking trails cross the entire Bavarian-Czech boarder zone which was over 40 years long restricted area. You can find many indication of settlement in this wilderness, often meets weathered heaps of stone, fallen down gravestones, old walls and savaged fruit trees. These culture remainders is a evidence off disappeared village life. Since the Middle Ages here Czechs and Germans settled next to each other. The people who lived here, left her homeland around 1945 usually obligatorily. Many locations with churches, houses and stables were broken off, blown up, gradened by the communist regime.

Bystrice is a few meters behind the border. From Voithenberghütte a path goes to the historical boundary stone Nr. 16. As remnants of the erstwhile village only some foundation walls and a memorial stone stand. The old barracks of the border guard will do it equal to the old Bystrice. It ruinous likewise.

Cela bavorsko-ceska pohranicni zona, ktera byla po 40 let zakazanym uzemim je dnes protkana nespocetnymi turistickymi cestami. Clovek by v teto divocine neocekaval zadne osidleni. A presto, casto narazite na naznaky zbytku zdi, pocasim oslehane hromady kamenu, vyvracene nahrobni kameny, zdivocele ovocne stromy, cesty a obrysy osad. Tyto zbytky kulturniho osidleni ukazuji na zanikly vesnicky zivot. Od stredoveku tu zili Cesi a Nemci vedle sebe. Obyvatelstvo, ktere zde zilo, bylo donuceno opustit kolem roku 1945 svuj domov. Mnoho osad s kostely, domy a stajemi zustalo diky komunistickemu rezimu opousteno, bylo vyhozeno do povetri, nebo srovnano se zemi.

Bystrice lezi jen par metru za hranici. Z horske chaty Voithen vede dnes lesni cesta k historickemu hranicnimu kameni cislo 16. Ze zbytku tehdejsi vesnice stoji dnes uz jen nektere zakladove zdi a pamatnik. Stara kasarna pohranicni hlidky ceka stejny osud, jako Bystrice, dnes se pomalu ale jiste rozpadaji.

Die gesamte bayerisch-tschechische Grenzzone, die über 40 Jahre lang Sperrgebiet war, durchziehen heute zahlreiche Wanderwege. Man erwartet in dieser Wildnis keine Besiedlung. Und doch trifft man oft auf alte Mauerzüge, verwitterte Steinhaufen, umgefallene Grabsteine, verwilderte Obstbäume, auf Wege und Siedlungsstrukturen. Diese Kulturreste zeugen von verschwundenem dörflichem Leben. Seit dem Mittelalter siedelten hier Tschechen und Deutsche nebeneinander. Die Bevölkerung, die hier lebte, verließ um 1945 meist zwangsweise ihre Heimat. Viele Ortschaften mit Kirchen, Häusern und Stallungen wurden vom kommunistischen Regime abgebrochen, gesprengt, eingeebnet.

Fichtenbach lag wenige Meter hinter der Grenze. Von Voithenberghütte geht heute ein Forstweg zum historischen Grenzstein Nr 16. Als Überreste des einstigen Dorfes stehen nur noch einige Grundmauern und ein Gedenkstein. Die alte Kaserne der Grenzwache wird es dem alten Fichtenbach gleich tun. Sie verfällt ebenfalls.
