A new Threat has emerged: Venoona
First Venona, Now Venoona
It has come to our attention here at GBA headquarters that Venoona
has set up a new dead drop. We believe he will send a message to
Moscow by posing as a geocacher on a well-known local message
board.
In fact, Here is a copy of a
post he made recently that appears to contain a coded message.
Analysis of his previous messages show a high probability of using
a stream cipher to encrypt his message. Analysis also shows a high
probability of reusing his key with only an offset in the keying
material.
He has also been known to store his old messages at a "dead drop"
website that he hacked into. The website appears to be connected to
a "puzzle geocache" in Sonoma County, owned by the owner of this
cache.
