The Watts Gallery is unique in every way. There are very few purpose built private art galleries in the UK. It was founded on ideal socialist principles and as such must remain free to the public for at least three days a week. It is an independent charity trust and displays the work of Watts - famous in late Victorian times - but now much fallen from favour..
The architect of the gallery was a local man, Christopher Turnor, who built it in typical Arts and Crafts style, taking tips probably from Lutyens himself. The building and the chapel are superb. Nowadays it is often said that Mary - his rich wife - was actually the better artist as evidenced by the chapel.
You will need to visit both the exhibits and the chapel.
The cache is designed to be a depository for your own artwork - up to A4 SIZE. Bring a small piece and add it to the box - who knows - it may get displayed!

Please note: Internet research including a birth certificate suggests a marriage age one year older than recorded in the gallery. Dates of Birth (in particular) were often 'hazy', Marriage Dates less so. If you use Internet research subtract one year from your result. Lets say she may have been underage. For I J use 52, until the gallery reopens.
The container is a largish cylindrical black sprayed click top tupperware box, which has empty A4 clear pocket protectors for your artwork .
