Located off the lower Blindekloof trail in the Groendal Wilderness Area. No bundu bashing needed; trail leeds straight to the cache. Please preserve the fauna and flora!
Groendal is a beautifull wilderness area. It boasts a few hiking trails, such as Lower- and Upper Blindekloof and Emerald Pool.
The cache is hidden along the Lower Blindekloof day hike (9.6km to the cache and back). Give youself a whole day to go lookng for this cahce!
After you pass what is called "Overhang shelter" (S33.69814 E25.30399), you cross the river at approx S33.69854 E25.30494 and go back into the forest, there a path turns off to the left - by a "b.kloof" sign. If you cross the river again you've gone too far (on your way to S33.69722 E25.30657). Here starts a steep climb (290m in Elevation) along a slightly overgrown path which will take you to the cache at the top of the ridge.
Blindekloof has many clear rock pools (S33.69283 E25.31034), ideal for cooling off after the climb. If you have the time, further exploring up the kloof is rewarded by amazing pools.
Access to the Wilderness area is at R20 per person and limited so be sure to get there early on weekends, no groups larger than 12 are allowed. And no fires!
