This virtual cache (Elevation 5 m) is around 250 metres west of the
car park (the coordinates of the car park are those for the cache
above; Elevation 2 m). Note: you can only get to the island at
low tide, so time your visit carefully.
To get there, follow State Highway 99 to the sign posted turn
off (at about S 46°18.021' E 167°44.319'), it's near Orepuki, now
head west for about 1 km to the car park. There is a picnic area
(with toilets) and camping is allowed (for free). When I was a kid
I spent quite a bit of time there, it was fun then, but watch out
for the cold, wet, and windy conditions that sometimes prevail
along this part of the southern coast ;).
