Geocache Description:

In my opinion one of the top three picturesque sporting ovals in Canberra. The cache is a micro so you will need to bring your own pen.

I have many fond memories of this oval including winning the Twilight Cricket Grand Final with Ginninderra. However the name refers to a less than flattering result.

We played Queanbeyan in a semi-final that they only had to draw to advance to the final. They batted first and you guessed - they made 729 runs. Their score included five centuries and a 96. Even number 11 walked out and hit the first ball he faced for four (sorry Fore!.......twice) runs. I assume this would be the record score in ACTCA history. Needless to say we didn't reach the target, falling some 560 runs short.

I think this hide adds something to the pavilion - which was named after a long serving and dedicated servant of Cricket in Canberra.

Please take care when retrieving/replacing the cache. Even though it is a micro there is a McPhan wooden nickel for the first three finders.
