ByronForestPreserve: This cache had a great run. It was my first hide, which makes it tough to archive...but the geotrail is getting pretty obvious and the thorns are trying to take over. There are lots of other great places nearby, though--maybe it's time for me to make a "tough" one.

Geocache Description:

Fairly easy; this cache is off the "official" trail, but not far. An excellent opportunity to explore the prairie oak savannah. Watch for blackberry brambles in the summer--there IS a slightly trampled path that's more of a path some seasons than others.

Cache is a medium Pelican Case. Contents include journal and give-away items. Park at the Jarrett Prairie Center near the South Shelter. The Byron Forest Preserve is located at 7993 N. River Road in Byron. The entrance is off of River Road--look for the heritage farm museum and the bike trail near the river.
