The cache is not at the above location but is within 1km, but you're going to have to go for a stroll first. We've been thinking about making this one for a while - it is based on a cache we tried recently at Amsterdam Central Station (GCV3Y1). We've finally taken the opportunity of IT's week of 40th birthday celebrations to get round to putting it out.
In the gallery are 13 clue photos (and a large sheet with all 13 pictures on, which you should be able to print direct from your browser to give you all 13 on one page). Each picture is given a number.
All show something that you can see as you walk along Teignmouth sea front. Some are easier than others. You're welcome to try this at night but some of the clues might not be easy to spot. You'll also need a torch at the final location if you try it at night.
What you need to do:
- Take a copy of the 13 photos with you when you go
- Walk along the sea front between N 50 32.484 W003 29.965 and N 50 32.954 W003 29.410
- As you spot the clues, put them in order from SW to NE and give them a letter a to m
- Once you've spotted all the clues, replace the letters in the following co-ordinates with the numbers from the corresponding photos in order south-west to north-east North ab cd.efg West Zero zero h ij.klm (that's W 00h ij.klm)
- Head off to the final location - a 5-10 minute walk
- The final location is in a quiet (and increasingly pretty) area as we know other caches nearby have been muggled. The features close by have been getting a bit of TLC, but if you get a chance, walk to the East and have a look at the wonderful views.
The first part of the walk is flat and paved, but the walk to the final is steeper and rougher.
