Wear wellies as the ground is a little bit wet at this time of year. Parking is quite easy in the streets around and the residents bays only operate between 0930 to 1100 Mon to Fri. The park does shut at night and is not generally opened until about 0900. The times are a little uncertain but I wouldn't do it after about 1800.
The cache is a tupperware box in a black bag.
Henry the 8th would have hunted in these fields as the field is about 1 mile as the crows fly from Eltham Palace. He also had a racecourse nearby from Eltham Palace and takes in the Course just off William Barefoot Drive. It may have even been part of the track, but don't put a bet on you'll only lose.
In more recent times there was a golf course which went straight up Southwood Road which went over the A20 and up to Belmont Parade in Chislehurst and the parkwould have formed the northerly edge of it. It was called Belmont Golf Course. In even more recent times this used to be the home of Eltham United a local football team and you can still see the changing rooms and clubhouse. This has now been taken over by The London Ladies Football League.
