160 cm.
  • Vodorovne latky prodavaji nejdelsi 220 cm.
  • Plotove planky prodavaji pouze v sirce 4 cm.
  • Sirka planek a mezer mezi nimi musi byt stejna na celem plote.
  • Cihla ma rozmery 30 × 15 × 7.5 cm.
  • Celkova vyska cihloveho sloupku nad podezdivkou ma vcetne betonove cepice merit 155 cm.
  • Pudorys sloupku ma 30 × 30 cm
  • Sirka betonove podezdivky je 30 cm.
  • Cihlovy sloupek je prikryt hranatou betonovou cepici o rozmerech 30 × 30 × 5 cm.
  • Celkova vyska betonove podezdivky vcetne zakladu v zemi cini 80 cm.
  • Kazda planka je prichycena k obema vodorovnym latkam dvema hrebiky.
  • Vodorovne latky se dotykaji sloupku.
  • Krajni planky se nedotykaji cihloveho sloupku, tzn. drevena vypln vzdy zacina mezerou
  • Vodorovne latky lze zkratit, ale ne napojovat.
  • Krome betonu, cihel, latek, planek a hrebiku se nepouzije zadny jiny material (cihly ve sloupcich drzi bez malty; patky pripevnujici latky ke sloupkum a potrebne srouby Patovi "prebyly" v praci ).

Uz to mate? Takze ted vite, ze Pat a Mat potrebuji:

  • CAEA hrebiku,
  • FCF svislych planek,
  • DF vodorovnych latek,

Pat & Mat, the two famous do-it-yourself men plan to relocate to the beautiful Czech Canada. They need to build a fence in order to protect their garden from the wild beasts. They know exactly how their enclosure shall look like. The retaining wall will be made of concrete, the columns of bricks, and the spans of wooden planks. Look at their drawing.

Although Pat and Mat are skifull handymen, their computing capabilities are not so perfect due to their frequent hookey-playing. Please help them with their purchase of the necessary material. You know that:

  • A square plot has an area of 225 sq m.
  • The distances between columns must be equal.
  • The spans (the distances between the columns) must be at least 160 cm.
  • The longest horizontal laths available in the local store are 220 cm long.
  • The planks are sold exclusively in the width of 4 centimetres.
  • The widths of the planks as well as of the spaces must be the same along the entire fencing.
  • A brick has a dimension of 30 × 15 × 7.5 cm.
  • The total height of the brick column above the concrete retaining wall including the concrete cap must be 155 cm.
  • The platform of the column should be 30 × 30 cm
  • The width of the concrete retaining wall is 30 cm.
  • All brick brick columns are covered with a concrete cap with the dimensions of 30 × 30 × 5 cm.
  • The total height of the concrete retaining wall including its underground foundation is 80 cm.
  • Each plank is adherent to both horizontal laths by two nails.
  • Horizontal laths touch the columns.
  • The terminal planks do not touch the columns, ie. all fillers starts by a space.
  • The horizontal planks can be shorted, but not extended.
  • Except for concrete, bricks, laths, planks, and nails, no other material will be used. (The bricks in the columns are fixed without a mortar. The springings binding the laths to the columns as well as the screws Pat took as a souvenir from his work ).

Have you got it? OK, now you know that Pat and Mat need:

  • CAEA nails,
  • FCF vertical planks,
  • DF horizontal laths,
  • CCAG bricks, and
  • CB.AEH m3 of concrete
