Welcome to one of my Favourite Places.
Macquarie Pass Canyon is close to home and always contains enough water to have some fun in. This cache is in the vicinity of a beautiful rainforest plunge pool that Joe Public doesn't know about, or can't be bothered getting themselves to.
Finding this cache is not meant to be easy. The sky gods will be vengeful due to tree cover and steep canyon walls, so I have included the following info to help you reach GZ.
From the trail head at S34 34.292 E150 38.909
Make your way to the fork at S34 34.341 E150 38.808
From this fork make your way down to the creek, then head approx. 75 metres downstream to a 2m waterfall that is followed by an open rock platform.
Note: ropes are not required to reach GZ, but if you plan on exiting downstream you will need appropriate abseiling experience and equipment.
Please take extra care when retrieving, handling and returning cache container - for reasons that will become very obvious when you find it. Also please don't include spoilers in your logs, so those who follow can enjoy the same experience as you did.
Finally: DO NOT attempt this cache in high water or flood conditions!
