Garden of Love Traditional Geocache

lovesreward: Both esquimaux and I are extremely saddened to read that a careless cacher destroyed part of this wonderfully beautiful garden that Kristin Sabo and other volunteers care for. I am SO SORRY to Kristin and her team - never did I imagine a cacher would do such a thing, and I am archiving this today. I will write a note to Amir's Garden's admin to apologize, and I hope that the cacher involved fesses up. There were a couple of cachers who found this cache right before it was destroyed - I am curious if either of them were involved or know who was. I will investigate further into this matter.

Thank you to everyone who enjoyed this garden, appreciated the hard work and dedication to Amir's dream, and who visited our cache. I do hope others come to find out about this amazing hidden away little treasure, and find a few moments of peace and solitude while surrounded by the beauty of nature and many hours of love, sweat and tears.

Geocache Description:


A few months ago esquimaux and I found our way up here looking for the Hilltop Garden cache (GCWE4Y). While we didn’t find the cache, we did find what we thought at that time was a small but amazing garden hideaway. When we recently saw that the cache had been archived we returned to put a cache of our own so that others might share this place. We took a different route up this time and when we got to the top we discovered that the garden we had explored last time was easily 3 times the size that we first thought it was.

The area is called Amir’s Garden, and is named for the individual who single handedly created and maintained this garden for years.

There are many trails running through Amir’s Garden, with many different forms of plant life. Picnic and seating areas are available, as is a large gathering area at the main entrance to the garden. You could spend a couple of hours up here wandering the trails and still not see everything. It is a beautiful testament to one man’s desire to make the world a better place, and we hope you love it as much as we do.

The cache is a 6” x 6” square lock n lock camo’d container filled with items of love. Please keep the theme in mind while trading trinkets. There is room for most Travel Bugs as well. It was placed within easy reach of the trail, and you shouldn’t need to bushwack to get it. Please be kind to the gorgeous plant life, as we should respect Nature and all of her beauty.

We found two different “stairways” that lead up to the garden that both qualify as a 2 ½ star terrain rating. If you take the horse trail it’s probably a 1 1/2 , but is also probably a longer walk. Once you reach the garden, most of the terrain is 1 ½, but if it’s wet it can be slippery in spots. Getting a good signal may be tough, but the coords should get you to the right area, and if you need help the hint will get you to the cache, but be forewarned that it is a **SPOILER** hint below! :)
