A little Hawaiian Gem... Halona Beach Cove.
It's a complete adventure in a small package!
Lovely beach, mysterious tunnel, hidden valley...
Supplies: Flashlights, swimsuits, ...knee pads?
Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles frequent the cove.
Pacific Humpback whales may be seen offshore,
between the months of November through March.
Site of the beach scene: From Here To Eternity
From the First Finder's log: January 11, 2007 by GeoGerms. Another team FTF for 808ladybug and GeoGerms. We had nothing to do after work tonight, so 808ladybug and I decided to do a little caching. We knew it would be dark by the time we got here, but it's nothing a couple of flashlights can't solve . Rumbled through the tunnel with flashlights a blazing and B-52 roaches a scurrying . Made it through to the valley and found (stumbled ) our way up to the cache. Doing this one at night really added to the thrill of the hunt, boy was it fun . Thanx Menehune Man and Dolango for the adventure. I loved the tunnel, but not the spooky sounds in the valley at night...
Nominated as one of Oahu's finest 'Traditional' caches.
And was runner-up at the Oahu CITO 2007
