This is a puzzle so there is no cache at the given
coordinates.
It is a hard puzzle – which is why it is D5. If you
don’t like the thought of that, don’t be cross, but
click the ignore button at the top of the cache page.
Don’t be cross that there are no hints – if there were
hints it would not be D5. You are given the value of 10
across.
Unlike most of Mrs SoBad’s puzzles the terrain is higher
– which may make some cachers happy.
The small kingdoms of Damaland and Roanaland have similar
monetary systems that confuse many visitors. Each has only 6 coins
in circulation and no paper money. Instead each kingdom packages
sealed rolls of all their coins (except the Qua) and each roll is
worth the total Qua/Bic value of the coins in it. The number of
coins in a roll is different for each coin.
In Damaland, the smallest value coin and basic unit of currency is
the Qua. Its other coins, in increasing value, are the San, Dec,
Fer, Olp and Diln. Each of these is worth some whole number of
Quas.
In Roanaland, the basic unit is the Bic, but there is no one Bic
coin. The coins they do have, in increasing value, are the Caj,
Jek, Luc, Gov, Kay and Nept. Each of these is worth some
whole number of Bics.
One Diln equals one Nept in value – these are the only two
coins worth more than 100 Quas/Bics, but neither is worth more than
200 Quas/Bics. Two Quas equal three Bics in value, but no
coins other than the Diln and Nept reflect that value ratio.
