Geocache Description:

Rim Trail, S of Sevier-Tropic Ditch, N of BCNP almost on the canyon rim. Unpaved, frequently traveled road. The main draws here are great views and almost guaranteed solitude (except for a few horseback riders), even during tourist season. 1.4 miles from Ruby's(straight line), about 1.3 road miles in from UT63, or .75 mi as the crow walks. Huge reward for very little work!

It appears this cache may have been muggled and no longer there. It's still a WAY cool excursion and spectacular view that few get to see. We're unable to access and re-install it (see note below). If someone else wants to help, a TON of people have enjoyed this, over the years. NOTE: Cache moved 11-23-2007. This is Bryce Outlaw Trail version 2.1 NEW coordinates: N 37 39.878 by W 112 08.358 As required by regulation, this is outside the NPS boundary (but you can see it from there!) Ruby's Inn Nordic Trail map is VERY helpful in figuring out all the trails in the area. There are a multitude of fun ways to get there from UT63 and Ruby's: walk, ski, bike, ATV, or drive. Walk: Rim trail from Ruby's. ATV/Bike: Old Bryce Town Loop trail to Rim Trail. Or even Rim trail from within the Park! NOTE: We've moved and it is increasingly difficult to check/maintain this cache. If anybody's interested in "adopting" it (whether formally or informally), please contact me. It's too great a location to have an unmaintained cache! See note above, it appears in June, 2019 to have been muggled and people are unable to find it. The EASIEST (not necessarily best) way in is to turn E onto the Old Bryce Town Loop Trail (currently not signed)off UT63 at the BCNP entry sign (not station) just S of Ruby's. Then turn R onto the Rim Trail (nice signage, courtesy of Ruby's) and follow it and the NP boundary to the Rim. 2WD is usually fine, as long as it's at least normal clearance, and it hasn't been raining. NG/Trails Illus. map shows the OBTL Trail as FS Road 805 and this section of the Rim Trail as an unnamed XC ski trail. Though not at establishment, Version 1.0 of this cache NOW appears to have been on private property (by about 75 yards!) controlled by the Syrett's. This was certainly accidental. It is now CLEARLY on Dixie N.F.(though USFS has blocked car/truck access about 100 yds from the cache), so there should be no further confusion. (Certainly, we should still be courteous to Clif & Lori's wranglers who are trying to make a living here!) Once a few people find this new location, it will be important to camoflauge it well, else it will be very prone to muggling. (It's already happening!) Pitch in & hide well!
