9/29/2020-After 17 years and 360 logged visits it was time to retire the original cache container, it was still in great shape with the exception of a few gnaw marks from some small local forest residents! We replaced the Skippy Peanut Butter container with a brand new Ammo Box type container & plenty of new swag and log book. We were able to see the blue lid of the container from the road as we drove up so PLEASE carefully replace this cache securely out of view.
We love the highway 89 area of Southern Utah and Tropic Lake is one of the lesser known gems. We hope you enjoy this little trip. This is a great scenic area with lots of wildlife and good fishing. Please feel free to post any pictures you may take while you are near....Scenery, wildlife, your fishing catch etc. The cache is at an altitude of 7,906 feet and is concealed in such a manner as to be safe from winter snow and from being washed away during the spring thaw. Please be very careful to replace it with the same care! We placed this cache during a short vacation we took for AkitaMom's birthday.
