This point is what my family and I have come to call Sunset Point. We've enjoyed a number of beautiful sunsets there. One August day after a dark thunderstorm had moved over the area left us watching the sun between dark clouds and the distant Uintah Mountains, with the country behind us awash in brilliant light. After Sol's departure, we were treated to 45 minutes of pink and purple clouds and layers of distant mountains. I've never been disappointed with a sunset here. Mid-day views can still be fascinating - you can see 100 miles to the west, 80 or 90 to the south, and perhaps 120 or more to the east.
The cache is a 1/2 gallon tin can with lid and pail handle with christmas decor and official green Geocaching label. Sits in a hole in the rock with a basketball-size rock in front, but not totally obscuring the container. It contains a large red plastic heart (yes, I did indeed leave my heart at Sunset Point), 2 Dinosaur Travel Bugs (Stego Soar Us and Tri Soar Atops) with eyes to the Big Apple, a LARGE yellow button, a black "double-six" domino, green train whistle, gold Sacagawea dollar, compass key ring, Junior Tangles, and 10 (TEN) black spiders. If you are one of the first 10 visitors, take 1 or 2 spiders without trading. You can trade for other things in the cache. But just place one of your spiders in another cache along your way and help me make some Spider Tracks in so doing. You can take one or both of the travel bugs... but remember that they are anxious to get on their journey... they are in a race... please place them in seperate caches that will help them get to NYC. Be sure to log your time with them (finding AND placing) in the TB section of www.geocaching.com.
